Data Interpretation

The data can be represented in the following ways :

  1. Numerical data tables
  2. Bar diagrams
  3. Line graphs
  4. Pie diagrams

  • Simple tables  A simple table gives information about only one single characteristic of the data

 

 

Example: Let us consider the following tables

 

Annual production of wheat by a country

  1. Manifold tables: A manifold table gives the information about two or more characteristics of the data

 

Number of marks of a student in various subjects  and in various years

 

  1. Frequency distribution table: In this type of data all observations are divided into groups. These groups are called class intervals .

The number of times each value occurs is called frequency.

First of all you have to learn about percentage, ratio ,sector angle in circle and graph of 10th class level . Because most questions in data interpretation are about percentage , ratio and sector angle and they can be given in the form of line graph or bar graph

 

Some tips for preparing data interpretation section

 

  • Read the question carefully before start away with the pen.
  • Solve the easier question first and after that move on difficult one.
  • DI questions needs a lot of concentration because there is given a lot of data and lot of calculations  and do not mix up the data from one question to another
  • DI questions may include simple interest and compound interest, percentage , partnership, average , ratio,etc. So if you want to solve DI questions you have to learn all topics, which come in BANK PO i.e. your basics should be clear.

 

Some tricks to solve Data interpretation questions

 

  • Always remember that in circular graph or in pie chart the value of the all angles =  360 degree
  • If something is given in percentage, then the complete value of graph = 100%
  • If something is given in fraction, then the value of all the factors = 1
